MANCHESTER CARNIVAL TOGETHER (CIC) is a group with a strong portfolio of delivered projects within the community and long- standing involvement with the carnival and the community in various capacities.

The group consist the leads of a number of organisations and initiatives including the Manchester Power House, Youth 84, Manchester’s Got Talent, Community Guardians, TBCs -Aspire Project ,Aim2Inspire, Kyso, Team Shellinz and community radio station Legacy 90.1.

Carnival Lead and Project Manager
Julia BuRke

Experienced project manager with experience in development project management and a successful portfolio in the delivery of live events from concerts to corporate events.

Currently employed as a development project manager delivering new build developments for large registered providers. With over 16 years’ experience in community project and commercial live music events, skilled in production and stage management, promotion and design, risk management.

Creator and founder of the BE music awards, TBC Events and Aspire Project, and community radio station Legacy 90.1. Leading on event proposals, contracts, funding/sponsorship and delivery coordination. Lead on event proposals, contracts, funding/ sponsorship and delivery co-ordination of events and production for events, visuals and marketing campaigns, on the day project management, budgeting and finance.

Experienced Project Manager with over 12 years’ experience in project delivery, with a successful history in the delivery in a number of varied live events from arenas to small capacity concerts, outdoor and cooperate events.

Event Manager
Darren fletcher

Former lead of the delivery and management of Caribbean Carnival of Manchester group.

13 years’ experience in the delivery of the carnival assuming role as the event manager – team support on risk assessment and health and safety on the health and safety plans and risk assessments around the event and parade.

Creative Content Lead
Akeim Mundell BEM

My name is Akeim Mundell BEM. I serve on the Manchester Carnival Together Committee as Treasurer and Creative Content Lead. As Treasurer, I am responsible for overseeing the finances and ensuring transparency. In my role as Creative Content Lead, I help shape the visual and storytelling elements that bring the spirit and energy of the carnival to life. It is an absolute pleasure to be part of such a dedicated team, and being involved means a great deal to me as it allows me to contribute to celebrating culture, community, and the vibrant legacy of Manchester Caribbean Carnival.

Event Management Team

I am Dawne, the Stalls, Bars, and Community Stalls Manager and Director. On the day of the event, overseeing operations from the entrance gate through to the pitch. Alongside my team, I ensure that all areas run smoothly, maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer experience

Youth Engagement & Entertainment
minister kemoy walker

My name is Kemoy Walker, youth worker and Teacher, each year I have the privilege of organising the youth stage which has lots of performers and good vibes doing this for the last 7 years has warmed my heart, seeing people now who are big musicians who thanked the carnival for putting them on the map!

Stage Management Production
Marvin English

I have worked/managed many music and community events/festivals in and around Manchester and I’ve organised live DJs/artist/performers/dancers music stages, a fun fair for young people, community stalls and workshops.

This would involve liaising with local councils and authority. I have also been a successful club promoter with over 15yrs experience putting on nights in various nightclubs and bigger venues such as MCR Academy and The 02 Ritz with capacities ranging 300 – 2000.

I have expertise as a DJ and promoter, event and project manager, diversity/equality, finance and ticket selling. I have qualifications in First Aid and child protection, as well as a Music Liability Insurance Certificate and Electrical P.A.T Test Certificate. I currently have a UK Drinks & Alcohol license.

Hideaway Youth Project Manager
irvine Williams

A qualified youth and community worker with an MA in Working with Young People, Community Education and Development and a diploma in management.

Based in Moss-Side Manchester with over 30 years’ experience of providing leadership and encouraging young people to develop their own voice to improve their life opportunities, participation and representation at all levels.

Extensive skills in youth work, youth engagement, partnership work, fundraising, service/project delivery, and team management.

SIA registered and have over 20 years’ experience of working in the security industry. 

The MANCHESTER PARADE TEAM

The Manchester Carnival Parade Team plays a vital role in bringing the spirit of Carnival to life. After months of planning and coordination, the team delivers the iconic King and Queen Show, leads the vibrant parade of troupes and mas bands and steel pans, and oversees the live stage competition in the park.
At the heart of Carnival, their work celebrates cultural heritage, music, and community, creating a seamless and dynamic experience that reflects the richness and energy of the Caribbean tradition.
