Black History Month Heritage Exhibition at The Refuge

This autumn, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel will host Colours Of A Carnival: Past, Mas & Future, a free exhibition celebrating the heritage, artistry and community spirit of Manchester Caribbean Carnival. At a time when conversations about what it means to be British are more present than ever, this exhibition highlights how our country’s richness lies in its diversity. Manchester Caribbean Carnival is part of that story – showing how cultures, traditions and communities come together to create something joyful, powerful and uniquely British. The exhibition is free to visit throughout October 2025 at Refuge. Whether you’ve danced in the parade, cheered from the crowds, or are discovering Carnival for the first time, this exhibition is an invitation to experience its colour, energy and history up close.

Manchester Caribbean Carnival 2025

The vibrant and much-anticipated Manchester Caribbean Carnival was held on August 9th and 10th, 2025. The event was a resounding success attracting 60,000 attendees over the two days. Carnival just keeps getting bigger and better and we thank everyone who supported and attended for making Carnival one of the best events in Manchester's event calendar. The two-day free event is a family friendly celebration of community, heritage, and music taking place in the heart of the community at Alexandra Park, each year. We will add details for Manchester Caribbean Carnival 2026 early in the new year.

The King and Queen Show

The King and Queen show  - showcasing Kings queens Prince and princesses from our participating troupes, from Manchester, Yorkshire and the East midlands.

The show takes place a week before the Carnival event each year and celebrates the incredible costumes built by community projects throughout the months leading up to the event.
